A solution to asbestos troublesome issue

  Today, in western Europe, only 3.5% of buildings hosting asbestos have been treated. All over the world, no more than 0.2 % of the boat involving asbestos have been repair. At least, it should take three centuries before getting rid of this extremely harm material. The main reason of this situation is the huge cost of the asbestos removal plus substantial expenses: building immobilization during the operation, staff transfer to another site, logistics reorganization, etc..

Because today European laws enforcement oblige all companies to get rid of this material, IR & Amiante (IR & Asbestos) a chemical industry start-up, established in Nogent l'Artaud (Picardy), provides an answer to this problem.


Based on an asbestos technology Eco treatment in accordance with a water-based solution, ours products, the ATP SOL range, ensures a friable sprayed asbestos treatment directly on the removal site.


With a strong affinity for the asbestos structure, ours products promote the microparticles bonding, elimination of dusting, coating, and the mechanical consolidation of flocking. In addition, it  secures the work areas, while preventing all neighborhood accidental pollution. IR & Amiante  products differentiates it from all others existing product because the asbestos destruction begins when the product is placed in contact with asbestos.
 

 

Our chemical formulations are involved throughout the asbestos removal and storage process. They could treat dust, provide coating and mechanic consolidation of friable asbestos. They could secure asbestos removal operation in an extent degree.  Our products could reach the following objectives:


a) Because the asbestos removal are costly, in agreement with the dust triggering threshold requirement, working with 5 microfibers maximum per air liter (
5 f / l) is permitted. IR & Amiante products could help to reach that goal. This option will allow private or public managers to delay the implementation of work in relation to their financial burdens. Each year, surveys will be undertaken to ensure the respect of this tolerance.


b) Demolition without removal : Asbestos removal should normally be conducted before demolition. However, if the dust emission is capture at the source, taking account certains conditions, asbestos removal is not necessary. So it means, lower costs.


c) Concerning all removal operations, IR & Amiante treatments could be applied in situ through the spraying on friable asbestos coating and  mechanical consolidation while ensuring the sites security. The microparticles bonding and dust elimination by consolidated plates  lead to a reduction of the removal costs.


D)
Our main goal, today under development, aims to transform the asbestos crystalline structure (dangerous) into an amorphous structure (harmless) by a "soft" physical-chemical method, economic and safe, low temperatures operating.  Harmless & Low operational cost & Easy setting up & Irreversible. This operation will be undertaken in a waste treatment industry after extraction and transport. The estimated cost of this inerting method has nothing to do is with the high temperature treatments currently practiced. In addition, it allows to recover asbestos amorphisation in the form of reusable materials.
